Originally built by Bath City Architect Thomas Baldwin in 1785, this Grade I listed Georgian townhouse comprised of a double-basement to elevate the remaining four-storey accommodation above the former flood plain. We obtained planning and listed building consent, for the creation of a separate basement apartment that forms part of a new contemporary rear extension that also provides the property above with aspect and access into the shared garden. As part of the repair and refurbishment work, the rear elevation was repointed with lime mortar and sash windows and original joinery repaired. The Victorian plate glass sashes to the front elevation were replaced with Georgian sashes to provide a more harmonious street scene.
